Navigating (mis)assumptions in exploring teachers’ knowledge and practice of multiliteracies pedagogy

چکیده

My research aims to explore teachers’ literacy experiences and teaching practices in New Zealand intermediate schools through the lens of multiliteracies pedagogy (MLP). However, upon initial semi-structured interview, I realised my (mis)assumptions learned that it could be demanding challenging for teachers narrate their beliefs practices. Consequently, reworked interview protocols switched from unstructured interviews. Then conducted them conjunction with collection observational data. also extracted key elements MLP – diversity, multimodality a repertoire substituted terms more familiar teachers. Through this experience, discovered honesty, flexibility adaptability are some essential characteristics when conducting as novice researcher.
